Project Funded by Built Heritage Conservation Fund, Development Bureau

The Built Heritage Conservation Fund (BHCF) offers funding for public education, community involvement, and publicity activities in order to strengthen community awareness and knowledge of built heritage conservation, enhance public participation, increase volunteering opportunities in heritage conservation works, and mobilise people to take direct and positive action to conserve and revitalize heritage buildings. For more details of the Fund, please refer to the heritage website (www.heritage.gov.hk). Under the BHCF, a pilot funding scheme for public engagement projects on built heritage conservation was launched in January 2017, The Hong Kong Institute of Architectural Conservationists' project proposal titled "HKICON: Our Neighbourhoods (Heritage of Our Days)" (BHCF-funded project) was approved in March 2018.

Consisting of three separate but related themes, the project runs from 01 June 2018 until 31 December 2019 with public programmes throughout its duration. The three areas of activities are: (1) Neighbourhood Cultural Mapping Workshops and Exhibitions (North Point and Yau Ma Tei), (2) Conservation Techniques and Building Maintenance Trainings, and (3) The Modern Movement in Hong Kong Lecture and Site Visit Series. All events are free and open to the public, with required registration.
